Edilvie S.r.l. uses Guided Auger Boring technology.
This technology is an extremely advantageous and precise solution as regards the installation of micro-tunnels through a shaft measuring at most 200 x 300 cm, without digging trenches. Its use is aimed especially at systems that require a high level of precision such as sewer and drain networks, and often this represents a valid alternative to microtunneling slorry system.
Description of the system:
STAGE 1: THE CREATION OF THE PILOT BORE HOLE
The pilot rods are inserted at the starting shaft and they are guided by a laser system as well as by a pilot head monitored by an LCD camera until it reaches the reception shaft. This allows the operator to immediately see any kind of deviation from the nominal axis as an image seen on the monitor. The operator can act on the pilot rods by correcting such movement of the axis. (The guidance system provides an accuracy of +/- 20mm or more over a 60 metre drive.
This guidance system used in suitable ground provides an accuracy of + /- 50mm over a 50 metre drive).
STAGE 2: SPOIL REMOVAL
Auger are hooked onto the pilot rod column that, by following the same into the borehole, widen it and, at the same time they remove the soil in excess, therefore creating the necessary space for the permanent pipe itself, while the pilot rods are recovered from the starting shaft.
STAGE 3: PIPE LAYING
The permanent pipe is thrusted into the borehole while, at the starting shaft, the auger are recovered.
